Notes: These two little-known Areas of Critical Environmental Concern don't look like much at first glance, but there are a surprising number of early wildflowers in the rocky flats of Waldo-Takilma and the meadows of French Flat. (Note that there are no public trails connecting the two areas; you have to drive around and access each area separately.)
Peak wildflower bloom at Waldo-Takilma & French Flat is typically from early April through the end of May, but there may be some flowers blooming from early March until late June.*
