You can also approach Tire Mountain from the west (Forest Road 124), but you won't see many flowers that way; it's 100% wooded. If you're looking for flowers, go in from the east (Windy Pass)... and you don't have to summit the mountain; the first two miles are the best.
Peak wildflower bloom on Tire Mountain is typically from mid-May through the end of June, but there may be some flowers blooming from late April until late July.*
