Notes: There are trails on both the north (west) and south (east) sides of the John Day River. If you're biking, the north side is smoother. While you're in the area, you might want to stop by Starvation Lane, where you can find upland flowers along the road.
Peak wildflower bloom in Cottonwood Canyon is typically from late March through April into early May, but there may be some flowers blooming from early March until the end of May.*
