Muir's fleabane

Habit Perennials, 2–5 cm; taprooted, roots sometimes barely evident, caudices diffuse, with extensive systems of rhizomelike, relatively long, slender branches. Perennials, 3–10(–12) cm; rhizomatous, fibrous-rooted, rhizomes or caudices simple, relatively short and thick.

erect (simple, ± scapiform), finely and loosely villous, minutely glandular.

blades oblanceolate to oblong-oblanceolate, 5–25(–30) × 2–5 mm, strongly reduced distally, margins usually entire, smallest and earliest usually 3-toothed or -lobed apically (lobes or teeth acute), ultimately entire, finely and loosely lanate-villous, eglandular.

blades oblanceolate to subspatulate, (10–)20–60 × 2–10 mm, margins entire, faces lanate, eglandular;

Discussion

Of conservation concern.

Erigeron muirii is known from Herschel Island in northern Yukon. Its densely lanate vestiture gives the whole plant a gray-green aspect.
