February 2025: The Eastern Gorge is off to a slow start again this year, but things are finally looking up, and places like Catherine Creek and The Labyrinth are seeing some early blooms. (Meanwhile, if you're thinking about a trip further afield to get your winter wildflower fix, note that southern California and Arizona have had almost NO precipitation in the last few months, so there might not be much happening around Anza-Borrego or Joshua Tree this year.)
